Human Factors Journal Entry #4

The fear of public speaking is greater than the fear of death. Individuals would literally rather die than speak in front of a group of people. It is one of people’s deepest fears; you are nervous, all eyes are on you and everyone is listening intently to what you are saying. Before 2006, I would’ve […]

#birdnerd

I wanted to share some pictures I took of a Northern Pygmy Owl during the December school break. It was a snowy and overcast day. I thought I had spotted a Whisky Jack, who are very common in the mountains. But it turned out, I had managed to spot an owl who is only seven inches tall. These photographs were snapped with my Canon point and shoot, I wish I had had my better camera with me! I use the tag #birdnerd when I post my pictures on Instagram, I’ve always been a closet bird nerd/ lover but now I share my photographs. I hope you enjoy the photographs as much as I enjoyed the experience.

Human Factors Journal Entry #3

Visiting the Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge to make observations and write journal entries for class has become a weekend routine. I visited the suspension bridge and park trails again, to see if the third time was a charm. After Dr. Dan’s lecture on “Sensation – Perception – Cognition”, I thought it would be fun to […]

Project 3

The proposed site I visited and researched is the Capilano Salmon Hatchery, located off of Capilano Road in North Vancouver. The area is used to showcase and educate visitors on the unique and delicate salmon species. Set next to the Capilano River in the Capilano River Regional Park, the location is tranquil and picturesque. Read More

Biennale’s Open Air Museum

On a beautiful sunny Wednesday, I adventured to Squamish with my classmate Marc (http://milkywilky.com or http://www.marcsist.com) to explore the Squamish BIKEnnale/ WALKennale Tour, part of the Vancouver Biennale’s Open Air Museum. The beautiful sunshine and crisp cold air made for a truly refreshing experience. We visited four of the five installments in Squamish, two of the Open Air Museum and two of the Artist Residency Program.
